FAQ

What is this site?
It's a site for fans of authentic & modern Asian food and culture to share their discoveries with each other.

Who are you guys?
Just two little ole New York gals. Read more about us here.

USING THE SITE

Do I have to sign up to use the site?
No, you can browse recipes without registering. If you want to do certain things, like add your recipe to the site, comment on recipes or use the forum, then you'll have to register.

How do I add my recipe?
First, you have to sign up for an account. Then click on the 'Share' button located in several pages on the left hand side of the website. Or, you can add your recipe using this link (it only works if you are logged in). Then, follow the steps to fill out the recipe form, adding what ingredients you use, what steps you take, and most importantly any photos of the recipe and so on. Click "Submit" and you are done!

Do I have to have a photo of my recipe?
We'd absolutely love it if you had a photo of your recipe. After all, it's hard to know what you are cooking without any photos of the end product or the steps you take.

What kinds of recipes should I add?
AsianSupper and its sister sites are really a home for authentic and modern Asian recipes. We'd love to get both old-school, traditional recipes, as well as new-school recipes incorporating different types of ingredients, updated to reflect new cooking techniques, etc.

YOUR ACCOUNT

How do I sign up for the site and is it free?
Use this link to sign up. Be sure to use a real email address as you'll receive a confirmation email at that address. That's it, you're done! (And yes the site is free).

How do I change my password?
Login to your account, then click the "My Account" link in the top menu. Change your password in the 'password' field.

Do I have to fill out the 'profile' and tell you about my favorite cookbook / upload a photo of myself, etc?
Not at all. We thought it would be a good way to get to know each other, but it's up to you!

How do I subscribe/unsubscribe from the emails?
You can change your subscription settings in two different ways -- Option 1: change your Newsletter Settings on your account page. To access that link, 1) login then 2) click on the link to "My Account" at the top of the menu then 3) click on the link to "Newsletter Subscriptions." Or, Option 2: you can also unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of every email.
