Try adding a little bit of butter and salt. it really boosts the flavor.
I've moved entirely to eating brown rice instaed of white rice these days. What I've found is to use a little more water than white rice and also cooking it on the stovetop vs in the rice cooker tends to result in fluffier rice. If I cook it in the rice cooker, I usually soak it first, then cook.
