I've come across some recipes for coconut cream and for coconut milk. I usually just use coconut milk. Can someone please explain what coconut cream is and where I can find it?
Will my recipes taste different if I use coconut milk instead of coconut cream, or are they more or less the same?
Coconut cream has a higher fat content content. If you don't shake the coconut milk can before you open it, there should be two layers. The top thick white layer is actually coconut cream/fat. The bottom layer of gray/whitish watery liquid is water flavored from coconut meat.
you can buy coconut cream at any asian store. or just buy coconut milk and use the top white portion. Hope this helps!
