Ramen Noodles with Exotic Sauce
ちょっと変わったやきそば
This is sort of Yakisoba (fried noodle) but ramen noodle was just boiled and is served with unique sauce, which is made of oyster sauce, soy sauce, marmalade jam, cayenne pepper, sugar and rice vinegar. This dish could be called Thai style Yakisoba. My original recipe.
Recipe Ingredients:
- 6 oz Uncooked Ramen noodle
- 1 Small Carrot
- 3 Scallion
- 3/4 lb Beef Round Tip Steak Thin Cut
- 4 oz Mushroom
- For Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- 1 tablespoon Marmalade Jam
- 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- 2 tablespoons Peanuts, Crushed
Recipe Steps:
- Cut beef into half inch slices. Cut carrot into juliennes-style. Chop scallion. Cut mushroom into thinly slices.
- Make Sauce. In a sauce pan, pour 1/3 cup of water and add marmalade jam. Heat over medium-low heat and dissolve the marmalade jam. Then add oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, cayenne pepper and vegetable oil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute stirring frequently.
- In a sauce pan, boil water and cook ramen noodle followed by the direction of the package.
- In a frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, cook beef until browns. Add carrot, mushroom and scallion. Saute for a couple of minutes or until vegetables are tender. Then add sauce. Reduce heat and stir until all ingredients are well coated.
- Place cooked ramen noodle on the plate. Pour the sauce over the noodle. Sprinkle peanuts on top.
